Principal's Message
Dear Crenshaw High Family, As the new permanent Principal at Crenshaw High, I want you to know how excited and proud I am to be a part of the “Cougar Nation!” It is an honor to be able to serve and continue to work with our stakeholders in order to provide a quality education for our students and an ideal teaching and learning environment for our faculty and staff. As a member of the Greater Crenshaw Educational Partnership (GCEP), Crenshaw High School has the benefit of working with the Los Angeles Urban League, The Tom and Ethel Bradley Foundation and The University of Southern California in order to collaboratively reshape our vision for teaching and learning. We aspire to be recognized locally and nationally as a model of collaboration among teachers, parents, administrators and the community and to dedicate ourselves to maximize the educational, social-emotional development and civic engagement of our students. Even though the partnership is less than two years old, we have already made a number of significant changes in the structure of our school by converting to Smaller Learning Communities. This change has afforded us an opportunity to provide an intimate learning environment for our students and to establish partnerships with a number of entities including but not limited to: The Hollywood Reporter, Junior Achievement, The Fulfillment Fund, The Heal Clinic, Comcast Cable, Sony Studios and Loyola Marymount University. I encourage you to refer to the links provided to get more information about each of them. While there are many challenges we have to overcome in order to reach our highest potential, I promise you to personally and professionally do everything possible to give “every child, every chance, every day” and look forward to your support in helping us to do so. Sincerely, ![]() Carrie H. Allen Principal |
